About Us
Ulysses Club Inc.

We are a social club for motorcyclists over the age of 40. We are the largest organisation of this kind in Australia.

Membership of the Club is open to any person, subject to the National Committee approval, who has attained the age of 40 years and who holds a current motorcycle licence. Additionally, the spouse or regular partner of a member, who has also attained the age of 40 years may also be admitted as a member upon application.

There is only one kind of membership, full individual membership. Any type of bike is welcome.

The Aims of the Club
  • To provide ways in which older motorcyclists can get together for companionship and mutual support.
  • To show by example that motorcycling can be an enjoyable and practical activity for riders of all ages.
  • To draw the attention of public and private institutions to the needs and views of older riders.
Our Branch
Wollondilly Wanderers were made an official branch of the Ulysses in late 1987. But our history began before this when  John and Margaret  French attended Sydney Branch meetings and rides in the early eighties.  Later they went to South Coast Warriors meetings and rides. By this time the numbers of Ulysses members had grown in Wingecarribee and Wollondilly Shire to a level which allowed establishment of our  own gatherings and rides.

Wollondilly Wanderers had their first meeting on the 20th March 1987 at Cam & Marilyn Mc Donald's  home at Tahmoor with fifteen members present. Members present decided on a name  and Margaret French was elected coordinator. Ideas for a patch  were submitted  during the next meeting. The group elected a combination of designs by  John French and John Bunter to become our patch.

Wollondilly Wanderers held meetings at members homes or on rides until 1997 when monthly meetings were established. These were successful in bring people together on a regular basis to discuss bike outings, club business and provide a common place for new or interested people to gather.
Wanderers members have spent many happy hours over the years on social outings, rides and  meeting new people, catching up with old friends and members around Australia.  From early days many people have passed through our doors contributing to  the Wanderers, to build it into the present day club. Members have attended AGMs and Odysseys all over Australia. Many members have moved onto other pastures but stay in contact and will always be considered part of the Wanderers were ever they live.
